Effect of Proximal Blood Flow Arrest During Endovascular Thrombectomy (ProFATE): A Multicenter, Blinded-End Point, Randomized Clinical Trial
ProFATE: temporary proximal blood flow arrest via balloon guide catheter during anterior-circulation thrombectomy did not significantly improve eTICI 2c/3 (74.4% vs 70.8%; aOR 1.07, P=0.88) but reduced distal embolization (1.5% vs 12.3%) and tripled first-pass complete recanalization (33% vs 15.3%) in 131 patients across four UK centers.
