Semaglutide Drops hsCRP 37.8% and Lowers MACE — A Prespecified SELECT Inflammation Analysis
In a prespecified substudy of the 17,604-patient SELECT trial, semaglutide reduced hsCRP by 37.8% at 104 weeks — an effect independent of weight loss — and a 25% lower baseline hsCRP tracked a 8% lower MACE risk; hsCRP lowering explains only a fraction of the 20% MACE reduction.
